Securing his horse with care, Kensou entered the bar with Kara. He looked around curiously, for it's been awhile since he's been there. There were a couple people sitting in the back of the room studying a large map. "Hi everyone! I'm back!" Kara exclaims.
"And just WHERE have you been?" asked the looming Telma.
Stepping forward, Kensou bowed formally. "She was assisting me in the recapture of my horse, dear mistress. I didn't tie his reigns up tight enough, and he yanked them free. I apologize for any inconvenience my carelessness may have caused the both of you."
"Hmph, well, in that case, get your butt over here girl, we've got some customers." Kara sighed, and took and apron off a hook.
Leaning over, she whispered, "Thanks alot, now I guess I owe you one!"
He sat at a table, trying to avoid looking at the soldiers at the far table.
"Hey! *hic*" one says, I heard that 'princess' of ours is trying to make some new laws. *hic* Never gives us a break. *hic* Soon we have to enforce it cuz *hic* cuz all that dang 'princess's' advisors are just a bunch of %#@&. *hic*
Kensou stood up, and marched over to the soldiers. "And what, pray tell gentlemen, were you saying about our Princess?" His voice is a deadly calm, as cold as ice. Kara froze as she brought over a tray full of beers.
You heard me, didn't you bitch? That 'princess of yours is a lousy &%#@!!!
He stood there for a minute, then calmly slid his sword from its scabbard. "You may want to refrain from saying that. Especially in front of a former member of the Royal Guard."
"Heh, I can say whatever I-" At that instant, Kara slammed the tray onto the table and grabbed Kensou's arm. "Don't." she whispered.
He sheathed his sword, then grabbed one of the soldiers helm from nearby. "A common soldier, not even a private first class. Pathetic." He tossed the helm back on the ground and allows Kara to lead him away. As soon as the soldiers were out of hearing range, Kara sighed and said, "They'll never learn. They come here everyday and everyday they get drunk and start talking smack about the Princess. I was told to ignore it but..."
He clenched the pommel of his sword. "If I was allowed, I would string them up as the criminals they are. Insulting the princess, she is........" He breaks off, and let's his breath huff out in an angry burst. Telma ran in from the back room. "What's going on in here?"
"Pardon me, but I couldn't control myself and I raised my sword to one of your customers." Telma slowly walked towards the two. Kara thinking she would be mad, braced herself. But Telma just placed her hand on Kensou's shoulder.
"Its about time someone stood up to those jerks. Here there's some people I want you to meet." She grabbed him by the arm and dragged him to a small table in the corner. There, people where standing around looking at a map. "I'd like you to meet, Rusl,  Auru, Ashei, and that Know-it-All geek has run off again." Kensou shook everyone's hands, even Ashei.
"Hey, if you're going up North, you might wanna avoid the Mountains. There's a monster running around there stealing the fish of Zora's Domain." warned Ashei.
"Oh for pity sake Ashei!" Kara said startling everyone. "Don't you get tired of the same old story?"
Kensou smiled and simply said, "Actually, I have been there, and he's not a monster, she actually quite friendly." Ashei stared at him in silence.
"S-so you've been to the Snowpeak Mountains?" Kara asked breaking the awkward silence.
Kensou smiled, "Yes many times."
Kara's face beamed with amazement. "That's so cool! I wish I could travel anywhere, but I can't stray too far from the bar."
"Would you like to come with me sometime?" Kara's face turned red as she nodded.
Just then the door slammed open, and a shaggy man wearing a hood stood through the doorway holding a large knife. Everyone seemed scared and the cat Louise started hissing. Realizing the cat's warning, Kensou asked, "Who're you?"
The man just laughed and said, "Hehehe, I finally found you!" and with that he lunged at them knife in hand. Kensou quickly released his sword and disarmed the man, throwing him to the wall.
"I'll ask you one more time," he said jabbing the blade at the stranger's throat. Kara ran over, grabbing him arm once more.
"I know who he is," she said. "His name is Elphed, and he's the one who murdered my parents."
Kensou stared at her a little bit, then turned his attention back to the man. "You'd better stay away from this girl and never come back to this place!"
With that, the man left. Half-way through the doorway, he shouted at Kara, "You can't keep running! Soon you'll meet your demise just like your mummy and daddy!" His cape fluttered as he left into the darkness. Kensou locked the door after he left and turned to Kara who was crying in silence.
"I'm sorry…" she said sobbing. "Its all my fault. If I had just gone away a long time ago, nobody would have to be in danger."
Kensou looked at her sternly. "What're you talking about? If you had died a long time ago, then I would have never met you!"
Kara looked at his soft eyes. Then turned the conversation. "Oh! The soldiers fell asleep! Even if they are good-for-nothing bats, they'll catch a cold sleeping there."
Responding to her comment, Kensou went over and gave each one a slug to the head. "Wake up! The bar is closed!"
The drunk soldiers responded, and swayed out the door.
"Speaking of sleep," Kara started, "Do you have a place to stay? There are a couple rooms in the back."
"Oh, yes, I've been meaning to ask Telma how much it would cost to rent one." He pulled a large wallet from his boot revealing many rupees.
"Oh no." Telma said, "Anyone who helps this girl is welcome to stay for free." and with that, she led him to his room.
This one was kinda long, but i couldn't end it so abruptly, so i put alot....
